Bakersfield – Armando Aguilar, aged 94, passed away on September 9, 2024, in Bakersfield, California. Born on September 1, 1930, Armando dedicated many years to Local 220, contributing significantly to the construction industry in his community.
He was a devout member of St. Joseph Church, where he actively participated in various church activities. Armando's faith played a pivotal role throughout his life, guiding him in his daily interactions and endeavors.
Armando is survived by his loving wife, Annie; children, Diane Medina, Eleanor Calvillo, Sylvia Lopez, Michael Aguilar (Carol), and Evelyn Yates (Robert). His presence will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
A visitation will be held at Basham Mortuary, 3312 Niles St., on September 25th from 5-8 pm, with a rosary at 6 pm. A Mass will be celebrated in his honor on September 26th at 1 pm, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1515 Baker St., followed by graveside services at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Mando and Annie were my neighbor for 7 years I just recently moved away and to hear such sad news he was such a wonderful person I always loved our long conversations when he would be out there doing his Lawn fussing with the sprinklers trying to dodge them but he would always get wet.. I would tell aww they got you lol .. I just want to send my condolences to all the family Im so sorry for loss Prayers sent your way Hugs to Annie

On Behalf of the Robert and Oralia Montoya Family we offer our deepest condolences to Annie and her children and family. Such a beautiful soul and such a beautiful man and friend to my parents Robert and Oralia Montoya. Audrey just had a picture of the both of you sitting on her bench in front of her store. That would be the last memory we will have of him. We went to school with your children, Diane, Eleanor and Michael. May your family find comfort in the days to come. Seems like he´s always been in my life. I first remember a house full of cousins and Tios and Tias on Knott St. and Tio Mando making sure everyone had a place to sleep. He was always making sure that everyone was taken care of! That was his legacy! I´ll always love you Tio and will forever miss you! Your nephew Juny!!
