Armella Jane Heck, 95, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away peacefully into the arms of her Savior, on Sunday, October 19, 2025. She was born on August 2, 1930 to Anthony and Bertha Pinkelman in Swanton, Ohio. She was the youngest of seven siblings, who have all proceeded her in death, and throughout her long and beautiful life, she blessed her family and friends with kindness, faith, and love.
Armella was the beloved wife of David Heck, and together they shared 70 years of devotion and companionship. She was a cherished mother to Gregory Heck and Dianne (Ron) Earl, a proud grandmother to four grandchildren: Matthew (Alona) Earl, Angela (Michael) Barchick, Elizabeth (Justin) Rodemich and Laura (Seth) Dow. She was a joyful great-grandmother to ten great-grandchildren: Ashton, Ethan, Jayden, Molly, Xander, Kaitlyn, Liam, Mila, Wells, and Brynn, all of whom brought immense joy and pride to her heart.
Armella’s life was marked by quiet strength, deep faith, and a steadfast love for her family. She found happiness in life’s simple moments — time spent around the family table, laughter with loved ones, the years spent dancing with David and the beauty of each new day. Her warmth and generosity touched everyone who knew her.
She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her loving heart, and the legacy of care she leaves behind in the lives of her family and friends.
Though we will miss her dearly, we take comfort knowing she’s now resting peacefully and joyfully with her devoted husband and her family and friends that proceeded her in death.
A celebration of Armella’s life will be held on October 23 at the Freck Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Michael Ivey officiating. Burial will be private with the immediate family.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites memorial contributions to be made to River of Life Community Church, in Armella’s honor.
