Dear Uncle Armin in Heaven,

I hope this letter finds you well. There is so much I wish I had said before you left us. I never had the chance to say goodbye, nor to personally thank you for everything you and your family has given me. You welcomed me with open arms and made me feel like I truly belonged. For that, I will always be deeply grateful.

I will forever cherish the family dinners and the Christmas, New Year´s, and Easter gatherings we shared over the past thirty years. Those moments were a true blessing-nothing short of a divine gift from God that our paths crossed and our lives became intertwined.

There is also something I never confessed to you while you were here: you taught me how to cook Trini food. I spent countless hours watching, learning, and tasting as you prepared those incredible meals that I still make and enjoy with my own family today-Bake and Buljol, Buss-Up Shirt, Dahlpourie, Curry Goat, Rice and Beans, and so much more. Trinidad will always hold a special place in my heart-and my tummy :-)

You raised such a beautiful, caring family-Ronnel, Arielle, and Keri-and one of the greatest gifts your family gave me is your true love, who also happens to be my beloved Godmother Indrani. I promise you this: for as long as I am here, I will take care of her until the day she is reunited with you.

I will always treasure the memories and love I shared with the Mohammed family. Go with God, Uncle Armin, and may peace be with you always.

With love and gratitude,
Pat
