I met Mr. Garber in June of 1969 at the Milwaukee Bucks basketball camp at Wayland Academy in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. I was 12 years old. He gave a talk to us, mostly about hygiene. Oddly enough, 54 years later I remember a lot of what he told us. I felt grateful for the information.

I first met Arnie through a friend with the Tripoli Shriners Bands. I got to see him about once per month for 10 years. I did some electrical for him at their home. I once went to see a live band with him and another Shriner, participated in numerous parades, circus shows and elder care facility concerts and always loved talking with Arnie. I even became a member of the same lodge as him.
I know you are okay and at home again Arnie. It was good to know you here.

So sad to hear about Mr Garber passing. Arnie was a mentor to me in my teenage years. Always there to provide support, advice and guidance. A truly great guy who will be missed by many.

Mr. Garber (to me always) was my mentor, my teacher, my father figure. He taught athletic training and told me - the first person - that I would be a doctor. He truly believed in me when I really needed it. He allowed me to be his Assistant at age 17. He was extraordinarily talented, rehabilitating athletes like no one I ever saw in my career. My sympathies are with you Bruce and Mrs. Garber. I owe my career to my mentor and friend.
