Arnold G Martens September 4, 1928 â€“ January 21, 2013 Born in Davenport, Iowa to Herman and Frieda Martens. He married Doris Lee Seabold in 1949, eventually moving the family to Southern California 1955. He is survived by his wife, Doris, sisters Betty Hepner and Darlene Norton, Children Linda Bergen, Debra Nicol, Kathy Furr, Robert Martens, and 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers Carl Martens, Roland Martens, Erwin Martens and sister Leanna Bundy. Arnie and family lived until 1994 in Azusa where he worked in Temple City doing what he loved, working on cars. They moved to Tehachapi in 1994 to their dream retirement home and lived there until 2005, when they relocated to Sun City Shadow Hills in Indio, CA. A memorial is planned for February 2, 2013 at 12 P.M. at the Santa Rosa Clubhouse in Sun City Shadow Hills.

9 years since you left us, and every year that passes is still difficult. You were the best Dad with the kindest heart, and biggest smile. I often think of the house in Tehachapi, and how much fun we all had up there. You were so proud of all of the work you did to make that place such a great home. The place all of the kids loved and still talk about. So many great memories!
I will always miss you until we are all together again.
Love you Dad!

It is so hard to believe it has already been 8 years since you left us. I miss you still every day. The past few week have been a difficult time for us and it reminds me of how short life is. How we all need to live every day to the fullest. To cherish our children, and grand children. You would be so proud of all of your grand children, and great grand children. They are all so smart and caring.
You were always there for us kids growing up with your kind manner and sparkling blue eyes. I cannot remember a day where you ever lost your temper, though you had plenty of reasons to do so. You would always find time to help us kids even after we left home. The best mechanic ever! The best Dad ever!
I hope you are at peace watching baseball, drinking beer, and visiting with old friends and family.
Some day we will all be together again, until then Love you Dad!
