Arnold J. Pajer, 88, of Huron, Ohio, formerly of Lorain and Vermilion, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2025. He was born on March 13, 1937, in Lorain, Ohio, to the late George Pajer and Anna Pajer (née Hronec).
On October 17, 1956, Arnold married the love of his life, Dorothy Pajer (née Kitka), with whom he shared many wonderful years until her passing.
Arnold proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. A dedicated and respected businessman, he owned and operated Harmon Appliance and Furniture for over 50 years. He also served as President of Key Midwest and Vice President of Key America. Arnold was known for his integrity, strong work ethic, and the lasting relationships he built both in business and his personal life.
Arnold loved good food and good friends, and his life was a reflection of those beliefs. He enjoyed entertaining, bowling, golfing with friends well into his 80s and traveling-most recently to Arizona and Cape Coral. Arnold spent many winters in Naples, Florida with Dorothy and treasured Friday evening dinners at the Vermilion Boat Club.
He is survived by his loving children, Deborah (Mark) Rorick, Denise (Danny) Merrell, and Mark (Virginia) Pajer; grandchildren Nicole (Kris) Lewandowski, Ian (Ali) Rorick, Natalie (John) Katz, Victor (Hailey) Pajer, and Emily George; step-grandchildren Jennifer (Scotty) Merrell, Daniel (Blake) Merrell, and Rachel (Roman) Didytch, 2 great-grandchildren and 6 step great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and beloved wife, Arnold was preceded in death by his sisters Sue Kovacs, Mildred Suster, Betty Crawford, Helen Duran, and Anna Pajer, his brothers John, George, Jerry, and Andrew Pajer.
Arnold will be remembered as a man of great character, whose warmth, loyalty, and passion for life touched all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who have had the pleasure of knowing him.
The family would like to thank staff in the Rehabilitation Unit at The Parkvue Healthcare Community, Sandusky for the loving care provided to their father and family.
A celebration of Arnold's life will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025, from 10am-12PM with a service at 12 PM at Dovin & Reber Jones Funeral and Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, OH 44001. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain, Ohio. Online condolences may be left at dovinreberjones.com
