Arnold passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at his home in Butte. Memorials may be directed to his family for future designation. Arrangements are entrusted to Biglin's Mortuary in Spencer.

Arnold Lee Pelc was born January 18, 1950 in Newman Grove, Nebraska to John and Hilda (Holmberg) Pelc. Shortly after Arnold was born his family moved back to the Boyd County area. Growing up he attended country school through the eighth grade. Throughout high school Arnie enjoyed playing football, working on cars, and spending time with his lifelong friend Leroy Blitzkie. He graduated from Butte High School in 1968.

At the age of 19, Arnold was drafted into the U.S. Army during Vietnam. After being discharged he returned to Boyd County and started farming. Arnold met Margaret Laughlin at a dance. Arnie was always quick to tell everyone that she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. The couple later married on March 10, 1972 in Nenzel, Nebraska. To this union five children were born, Perry, Jill, Darrin, Jeremy, and Kevin. Arnold owned a dairy farm just outside of Butte up until 1994 when he sold the dairy cows and stuck to beef cattle. He worked for a couple of years for National Farms. He later worked for Butte Farm Supply for many years in Butte before retiring.

Arnold was a member of the Butte American Legion Wills Post 51 and a member of the Butte VFW. He was proud to serve his country and would always be willing to share stories of his time in the service.

Arnie enjoyed going to car shows, attending cruise nights, and Allis Chalmer tractors. His greatest joy in life was his family. His grandchildren especially were the light of his life. His best days were spent with any one of them just simply having them around, from attending all their school/life events to having them help on the farm in the summertime. He also enjoyed his dogs, Charlie, Pom Pom, and Hope. Wherever he went you were for sure to see his dogs too. You never passed Arnie without a friendly hello and a quick chat.

Arnold is survived by his children, Perry (Amy) Pelc of Waverly, Ne, Jill (Jay) Wolf of Spencer, Ne, Darrin Pelc of Lincoln, Ne, Jeremy (Dixie) Pelc of Pierce, Ne, Kevin (Ashley) Pelc of Butte, Ne; 17 grandchildren, MiKayla Wetzel, Bailey (Cy) Trofholz, Trina Wetzel (Dawson Shipman), Tyler (Kali) Bredvick, Tasha (Carlos) Herrera, Tori (Brenden) Corning, Eli (Kamree) Pelc, Logan Pelc, Dawson Pelc, Karli Pelc, Aliyah Pelc, Cameron Pelc, Jenni (Ryan) Cleveland, Chris (Abby) Forslund, Mason Pelc, Makenzie Pelc, Morgan Pelc; 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Nola Miller of Cushing, Ne, Doris Kocian of Butte, Ne; many nieces and nephews; his beloved dogs, Charlie, Pom Pom, and Hope.
