Arnold Snyder Obituary
Arnold Eric "Arnie" Snyder, 76, of Houghton Lake passed away on Sunday August 4, 2024 at home with his loving family at his side.
Arnie was born on November 20, 1947 in West Branch Township, Missaukee County, Michigan to Benjamin and Irene (Whipple) Snyder. He grew up in the Houghton Lake area, graduating from Houghton Lake Community Schools. Following High School Arnie served in the US Army. Arnie was a delivery driver for Lakeside Foods, Wilson Dairy, and later for Randall Lumber. On April 6, 1974 in Merrill, Arnie was married to Diane Theresa Honaman. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and was an avid rock and gem collector for many years. Arnie's special love was spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving Mr.Snyder are his loving wife of 50 years, Diane Snyder of Houghton Lake; two daughters, Michelle (Tony) Horton of Roscommon, and Rhonda Snyder of Houghton Lake; son, Jason (Katrina) Snyder of Prudenville; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Arnie was preceded in death by his parents; seven sisters, Wilma Haveman, Wava Hamel, Arthel Cates, Roena Bair, Sandy Snyder, Sharon DeWitt, and Merita Lippert; and his brother, Wilfred Snyder.
Memorial Services for Arnold Eric Snyder will be conducted at 11:00am on Monday August 12, 2024 from Roscommon Baptist Church,1201 W Sunset Dr, Roscommon, MI with Dr. Michael Ritchie officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00am until the time of the service at 11;00am. Interment will be in Roscommon Township Cemetery, Houghton Lake, at 2:30pm Monday August 12, 2024. Memorial contributions in memory of Arnie are asked to be directed to Fisher House Michigan, PO Box 130466, Ann Arbor, MI, 48113, or fisherhousemichigan.org, for lodging and meals to support families with loved ones in the VA Hospital.. Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel is serving the family. Condolences can be sent to the family online at www.christler-holdship.com
