Dear Family of Colleen Berger Cushing
Farewell to a dear life-long friend. Colleen and I grew up as neighbors in the Sugarhouse area, attended the same schools (Forest Elementary, Irving Junior High and South High School) and were members of the Lincoln Ward on 9th East and 20th South. In about 1950 we traveled by train to live in San Francisco with another good friend, Dalene, where we lived for about a year and shared many memories. As members of the Lincoln Ward Gleaners, we have met annually for about 60 years. We have kept in touch... and I always loved hearing how she and Jim were doing and their fun travels. She was so very proud of their wonderful family. I am so glad I called Colleen on her birthday - our last visit. I will miss her happy voice and charming ways. My love to all of you.
