ARRIE RAY McCLASKEY
Arrie Ray McClaskey of Unionville, MO was born July 21, 1935, in rural Humphreys, MO. He died December 4th, 2025, in the Putnam County Hospital located in Unionville at the age of 90.
Arrie graduated from Trenton, MO high school in May 1953, then married Helen Jobe of Trenton on December 25th, 1953. They were married for 45 years until Helen's death in 1999. Three daughters were born from this marriage, Teresa Wilson (Richard) of Oskaloosa, IA, Kathy Ballanger (Rick) of
Centerville, IA and Cheryl McCollum of Altoona, IA.
In May 2000, Arrie married Saundra Miller Hart of Unionville, MO. Saundra has two children, Dave Hart (Teresa) of Kirksville, MO and Kerri Beauchamp (Ron) of Omaha, NE.
Arrie was well known in Albany and Trenton, MO and
Centerville, IA as a very successful Hy-Vee store manager. He was well received in each community as a hardworking, honest and thoroughly dedicated store manager who was loved and respected in the grocery business.
An avid St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan and enthusiast, Arrie was able to attend several Cardinal games over the years at the old and new Busch Stadiums. At home he would listen to the Cardinals on the radio (staticky) and often watch them on cable television. Later in his life, Arrie raised cattle on his farm and tended to a large apple orchard for several years. One of Arrie's favorite hobbies was playing cards, especially the game of Wizard.
He is survived by his wife, Saundra, his three daughters, two step-children and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren which include: Melanie Seals (Michael) of Moravia, IA, Jennifer Joffrion (Matthew) of Birmingham, AL, Kelly Murphy of
Centerville, IA, Jacob Wilson (Britney) of Blue Springs, MO, Lisa Kreyer (Benjamin) of New Richmond, WI, Jeffrey (Victoria) McCollum of Altoona, IA, Emily McCollum of Altoona. IA, and
Kathryn Good (Brendon) of West Des Moines, IA.
Step-grandchildren: Colton Hart of West Des Moines, IA, Caitlyn Hart Schwend of Kirksville, MO., Cameron Beauchamp (Cindy) of Omaha, NE, Cassidy Beauchamp of Omaha, NE.
Great grandchildren include: Madison Murphy, Caleb Murphy, Luke Murphy of
Centerville, IA. Matthew (MaryAnne) Seals, Carson Seals of Moravia, IA., Eli Kreyer, Arrielle Kreyer, Annaliese Kreyer, Eden Kreyer, Jack Kreyer of New Richmond, WI. Nathan Lamproe, Wesley Lamproe, Chloe Wilson, Helen Wilson of Blue Springs, MO.
Step-great-grandchildren include: Cambria Hart of Kirksville, MO, Grant Beauchamp of Omaha, NE.
Arrie is also survived by a sister, Arlene Humphreys (Randy) of Trenton, MO., and several nieces and nephews.
Arrie was a dedicated member of the First Christian Church of Unionville, MO who believed and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Amen.
Funeral Services for Arrie Ray McClaskey will be held Thursday, December 11th, 2025, at the Thomas Funeral Home in Unionville, MO. Visitation will be from 9 am to 11 am at the funeral home, with funeral starting at 11 am and burial following the funeral at the Haines cemetery in
Centerville, IA.
