Here's my memory: I met Art when he was dating a friend of mine in the 80s. I recall visiting his beautiful LA home and walking around the pool in awe (I grew up in NJ and went to college in CA so his lifestyle was super-glamourous to me). On one visit, he shared a bottle of Dom Perignon with us. I had never had Champagne before - let alone one of the best! - but I knew this was a special treat, and loved it. Thanks in part to that experience, I worked for a wonderful family-owned Champagne producer. Art clearly enjoyed enlightening people to new things besides music! Although I lost touch with the friend that dated Art, I always appreciated his kindness and generosity of spirit. I'm a professional photo manager now, and my wish is that Art's remarkable legacy in photos, videos and audio will be archived and preserved, so those who didn't know him or his work firsthand will still benefit. RIP, Art, you touched so many lives in deep and impactful ways. My sincerest condolences to his friends and family.

Those oldies but goodie’s was a great time period. It’s a expression that is still reverent to my generation today. The family has my sympathy.

I can remember how he impacted his listeners & the communities to come together.
The music he played was like magic it made everyone feel good.
Again, Mr. Laboe is the ultimate legend in radio & he has my respect.
