REEVES, Ericson, 20, a life-long resident of Nashville, passed away August 23, 2011. Ericson was an engineering student at Nashville Community College. He graduated from David Lipscomb High School in 2010. He was on the football team who won the state championship in 2008 and was runner-up in 2009. Ericson was also on the track team, pole vaulter, wrestler and weight lifter. He was a volunteer for the Nashville Rescue Mission. Deep sea fishing in Florida and hunting were some of Ericson's hobbies. He enjoyed in-depth study of the Bible. Ericson was christened at Christ Episcopal Church and later accepted Christ and was baptized by his father at Granny White Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Suzy Stockell, grandfather, Jim Blackburn; and three uncles: Richard Kenneth Reeves, Talbort Reeves, and Timothy Jay Reeves. Ericson is survived by his father, Art Ericson, his mother Catherine Tillman Blackburn and grandparents, Abram James (Mettawe) Reeves; nieces, nephews, and many friends. The family will receive friends at Mount Olivet Funeral Home on Wednesday August from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Following the visitation a memorial service will be conducted from the chapel of Mount Olivet Funeral Home. Frank Batson officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Nashville Rescue Mission, 639 Lafayette Street, Nashville, TN 37203.
