Came across this today ... Artie was the first one I met when we moved to Friendly, MD in 1968. We became best friends during those yrs. ´til I left for college in 1971, and he went on to follow his political ambitions in MD & DC. Only saw him occasionally when I returned home on break. We lost contact in late 1970's.
He had a great sense of humor, and we shared music/cultural/literary interests, and challenged each other philosophically & intellectually. RIP Art!

I was Art´s roommate at GW. He was an undergrad and I was in my first year of graduate school. I will always remember the good times at our basement apartment at 19th and S. My deepest sympathy.

Artie gave me a government job at the Council and I couldn´t be more grateful to him. I will miss our laughs most of all!
