Lynnfield - Arthur D. DeRosa, age 92, of Lynnfield, died Wednesday, February 7 at the Bear Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Malden on November 10, 1931 he was the son of the late Arthur and Mary DeRosa.
Mr. DeRosa was raised and educated in Malden. After his schooling he went to work in a pharmacy where he was until he enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served our country as a member of the Navy Seabees. Upon returning home he married Theresa (Thomas) and the two began their family in Malden before ultimately settling in Lynnfield. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Mr. DeRosa had owned and operated DeRosa Contracting of Lynnfield for more than 40 years. He was also an excellent self-taught mechanic and an avid fan of the New England Patriots.
He was the beloved husband of the late Theresa (Thomas) DeRosa. He was the loving father of Glenn DeRosa and his wife Kathleen of Lynnfield, John DeRosa and his partner Ilene Hawk of Peabody, and the late Alan DeRosa and his surviving wife Anna of North Carolina. He was the cherished grandfather of Justin and his wife Sharon of Colorado Springs, CO, Mark of Wilmington, Patrick and his fiancée Brianna of Wakefield, Matthew and his wife Justina of Somerville, and the late James DeRosa.
Service Information: His Funeral Mass was celebrated in Our Lady of the Assumption, Lynnfield on Monday, February 12. Arrangements were in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, Wakefield. For guestbook, www.mcdonaldfs.com
