Arthur Andrew Gardiner Jr.

July 6, 1933 – September 24, 2025

Arthur Andrew Gardiner, Jr., 92, of South Kingstown, RI, passed away surrounded by the love of his family on Wednesday, September 24, 2025. Arthur lived in South Kingstown for over 60 years. He was the loving husband of Barbara Ann (Dimon) Gardiner for 72 years. Born in Richmond, RI, on July 6, 1933, he was the son of the late Arthur Andrew, Sr. and Mary Ann (Boisvert) Gardiner.

Besides his love of his life is wife Barbara, he leaves his children Lorna Briggs, Arthur Gardiner III, predeceased daughter Cheryl Gardiner, David Gardiner, Rene Gardiner, Laurie Ricks and Michelle Gardiner, along with 19 living grandchildren and two predeceased grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild. All of his siblings are also predeceased.

Arthur served his country proudly during the Korean conflict in the Airbourne Unit as a paratrooper. He worked at Brown & Shop for 10 to 15 yrs. URI as supervisor of custodians over 20 yrs. And went on to run his own cleaning business for over 10 yrs. He worked for the Town of South Kingstown School

Department for over 10 yrs and then retired.

When he was younger he grow up in Galilee and him and friends spent a lot of time on the beach and swimming and called themselves Pirates. As he got older he loved camping and picnics with his family. His first hobby was photography, he also got into making things out of leather then he was riding horses in parades.

He had a big family , he was always there to help and we loved and appreciated him. We will miss him greatly.
