Arthur “Art” Burdette Gebbie, age 85, met Jesus on Thursday, September 29, 2022. Art was born May 7, 1937, in Des Moines, IA to Arthur and Mary Dixon Gebbie. Art was an entrepreneur; he was not afraid of hard work and had his hands in a little bit of everything. He was the owner of Gebbie Cleaning, a former barber, and owned many rental properties. He was a faithful member of The First Baptist Church of Weatherford and loved sharing the gospel with everyone he met. Art was an accomplished Poet and loved writing for many family and friends. He loved fishing, working in his yard, and working on anything mechanical. He loved the lord, his family, and friends fiercely and was always ready to help when needed. He was truly a "People Person". Art leaves behind a legacy of faith but now enjoys his reward.
He is preceded in death by his wife Marilyn Gebbie, his parents and sons, Timothy Gebbie and Rick Gebbie.
Art is survived by his children, Randy Gebbie of North Carolina, Roxanne McFarland of Red Oak, IA, Penny Christiansen of Neola, IA, Steve Gebbie of Weatherford, Gene Gebbie of Weatherford, and Daughter in law, Lorie Gebbie. Siblings, John Gebbie, Linda Sargent, Arlene Bjerga, Helen Gebbie, Numerous Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Visitation will be October 4, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel with Funeral Ceremony 12:00 pm. Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at the First Baptist Church Weatherford.
