Arthur “Marty” Marshall Herbert, 83, passed away on November 4, 2025 surrounded by family. Born on May 15, 1942 in Washington, D.C., Marty was a lifetime member of Bladensburg Volunteer Fire Department and served as Chief from 1972-1976. He spent most of his career in the printing industry.

Known for telling great stories alongside "Toby". Marty loved Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson. He enjoyed hunting, trips to the mountains, his swimming pool, and throwing parties in the "park". He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, especially teaching them how to play the organ and guitar.

Marty is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Alice Herbert; his children, Janice Hovan (Mike), Suzanne Horner (Chris), Arthur Herbert (Nella), Robert Herbert, Sandy Herbert Dinges (JR), Cindy Herbert Larson, and Susie Fox (Jimmy); 18 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren. Visitation and service will be held at the Bladensburg Volunteer Fire Department.
