Arthur Raymond Hoffman

Arthur Raymond Hoffman, 87, of Windsor Locks, CT, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 26, 1938, in Queens, NY. He was raised by his mother, Helen Hoffman, a strong and independent woman who'd emigrated to the United States from Germany.
Arthur met the love of his life, Dorothy (Nied) Hoffman at a dance, and they married on February 1, 1969. They lived on Long Island, NY, for a year and then made their home in Wolcott, CT, where they lived for more than 50 years and raised their two children, Edward and Catherine.
Arthur worked for AT&T for many years, where he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic. He maintained the telephone lines for the east coast of the United States, working in a nuclear-proof bunkered site. Outside of work, he enjoyed playing golf, cribbage, and other card games, and watching UConn basketball. Above all, Arthur was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather who treasured family gatherings and the simple joys of life.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 56 years, Dorothy Hoffman; his children, Edward Hoffman and his wife Robin, and Catherine Nowsch and her husband Pete; his cherished grandchildren: Lillian and David Hoffman, and Mason Nowsch; and his nephew Karl Hoffman and his wife, Sarah, and their children.
