Arthur F. Jones, Sr., a beloved figure who touched the lives of many, passed away on June 1, 2025, in Beaumont, Texas. Born on October 4, 1936, in Beaumont, he grew to embody the spirit of hard work and community that defined his life.
Arthur is remembered as a dedicated heavy equipment operator, retiring from Trotti and Thompson, where he spent many years contributing his expertise and effort. His proudest accomplishments included a passion for working on engines and his skilled craftsmanship as a mechanic. Arthur dedicated himself to his craft with an unwavering commitment that inspired those around him.
In the tranquility of his personal time, he nurtured his love for gardening and fishing, finding peace in the gentle rhythms of nature. These hobbies were not just pastimes; they were a reflection of his character, revealing a man who took joy in the simple pleasures of life.
Throughout his life, Arthur was a man of faith, adhering to the principles of the Baptist faith. He found strength and solace in his beliefs and community.
Arthur leaves behind a loving family who will hold his memory close to their hearts. He is survived by his granddaughters, two in number, and a grandson who will carry forward his legacy. His sisters, Betty Peltier and her husband, Glenn of Lumberton, and Dorothy Pelton of Tyler, also survive him, as they reminisce fondly about the man they knew and loved.
Arthur was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Janet Jones, who was his companion and confidante. He also leaves behind the memories of his sons: Robert Jones, Arthur Jones, Jr., and Michael Jones; as well as his sister, Mary Jamison, and his brothers, George Jones and Jimmie Jones, who have all departed this earthly realm.
A visitation will take place on June 6, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 2001 Nall Street, Port Neches, Texas. The day will conclude with a graveside service at Hooks Cemetery in Kountze, Texas, beginning at 2:00 PM and lasting until 3:00 PM.
Arthur F. Jones, Sr. will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his strength, talents, and the love he shared with family and friends. His legacy will continue to shine through the lives he has touched.
