Arthur Joseph "Tee" Cortez

Arthur Joseph “Tee” Cortez, 89, a native of Kraemer, La. and resident of Raceland, La. peacefully went to his Heavenly Father on February 26, 2026.

Arthur is survived by his wife of 69 years; Vera R. Cortez, sons; Kevin (Susan) Cortez, Kerwin (Marsha) Cortez and Keric (Julie) Cortez, grandchildren; Alison (Tim) Borne, Jacob (Madalyn) Cortez, Angel (Andres) Cortez, Annie Cortez and Kyle Cortez, great-grandchildren; Morgan Borne, Mckinley Borne, Carson Borne, Alexandra Cortez, Levi Cortez, and Andrew Ramos, sisters; Euline St.Pierre, Ann Hotard, Doris Tabor and Rose Schroeder.

Arthur was preceded in death by his parents; Richard and Odette Granier Cortez, son; Kerral Cortez, granddaughter; Alyssa Cortez, brothers; Ivy Cortez, and Edward Cortez.

Arthur was a member of the Raceland Fire Department for 25+ years, and a Member of The Woodmen of the World for 40+ years, he was a member of Fraternal Organizations and was a Cub Scout Master. He retired from Avondale Shipyard after working as a Forman for 30 years.

Arthur was an avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, gardening and spending time was his family and friends.

The family of Arthur would like to thank Ochsner/St. Anne, The Claiborne of Thibodaux, Thibodaux Regional Medical Center and the staff of St. Joseph Hospice for the care and support given to them during this difficult time.
