ARTHUR PEDERSON

Arthur Pederson of Mora, Minnesota passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, after a short battle with colon cancer at the St. Clare Rehabilitation Center. He was 87 years old.

Arthur was born June 5, 1938, in Mayville ND to Robert and Josie (Hanson) Pederson. He grew up the seventh of ten siblings. He graduated from Mayville high school in 1956 and then attended Mayville State College where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education with a double major in Mathematics and Business in 1960. He then moved to Mora, MN where he taught mathematics and business at Mora Schools.

Mora is where he met his wife Karolyn Solmonson and they were united in marriage on August 19, 1961. They celebrated 63 years of marriage before Karolyn's passing in 2025. Art and Karolyn raised four children: Scott, Todd, Kristen and Eric. They lived in the country most of the time as they enjoyed the outdoors and all the animals that they could have.

Arthur taught school in Mora for ten years, worked for Ellingson Electric for 5 years and for USPS in Mora as a rural carrier for twenty-five years, retiring in 1998. He loved fishing, bow hunting, golf and taking pictures. After many years of taking pictures for Mora High Schools athletic teams, he was inducted into the Mora Mustang Athletic Hall of Fame in 2015 for his countless years of supporting teams in the stands and being their photographer.

He was preceded in death by his wife Karolyn, parents; brothers Ordell and Curtis: sisters Natalie, Beverly and Janice.

Arthur is survived by his children, Scott Pederson, Todd Pederson (Sue), Kristen Osterdyk (Mike), and Eric Pederson; grandchildren, Nicole (Riley) Priebe, Rebecca Osterdyk (Jordan), Robert Osterdyk (Amber), Alex, Corey, and Mya Pederson; great grandchildren, Scarlett Biddle, Johnathon and Josephine Priebe, Kellan, Magnolia, and Lucille Moses; siblings, Clark (Mieko), Leroy (Clementina), Alma Wayne, and Ida Mae (Craig) Rypkema; and many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the Hamilton Funeral Homes – Akkerman Chapel in Mora with Pastor Lee Pederson officiating.

Memorial Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service.

Inurnment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Mora.

A Luncheon will follow the services.
