Arthur Rooney Obituary
Born on May 10, 1962, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Art was the beloved son of Arthur J. and Kathleen (née Kumer) Rooney, Jr. He was a graduate of Mt. Lebanon High School, Class of 1980. Art continued his education at Boston College, earning his bachelor's degree before attending the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, where he received his Doctorate in Dentistry.
Following graduation, Dr. Rooney began his professional career at a dental practice in the Pittsburgh area before fulfilling his lifelong dream of opening his own practice. In 2001, he and his family relocated to Naples, Florida, where he once again established a successful dental practice that served the community with compassion and excellence until his retirement in 2019.
Art will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his warm personality, strong work ethic, and dedication to both his patients and his family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Christine B. Rooney, and their four children: Arthur J. Rooney, IV of Naples, FL; Alexandra C. Rooney and her husband, Tyler Cassidy of Pittsburgh, PA; Heather R. Rooney of Naples, FL; and Brian X. Rooney and his wife, Ashley of Naples, FL. He is also survived by his cherished grandson, Russell J. Cassidy, and his three siblings: Karen Rooney of Philadelphia, PA; Michael Rooney (Erin) of Pittsburgh, PA; and Susan Grove (Ron) of Pittsburgh, PA and 8 nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 PM on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 625 111th Avenue North, Naples, FL 34108. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 11:30 AM until the time of the Mass. Interment will be private.

Dr Rooney was a great man. I remember going to the dentist as a kid was a fun experience and we always talked about the Steelers! May he rest in peace, I will be praying for Dr Rooney and his family. God bless.
