I was a colleague of Art Smith when he taught at Marshall Middle School in Houston. He was such a gentle, caring man. Had I known in time, I would have made the trip to San Antonio to celebrate his life. I was blessed to know him. My condolences to his family.

My deepest thanks to Mr. Smith and Ms. Martha. Though faded with time, my memories with Mr. Smith will always be filled with a great fondness. He and his family showed us kindness and what the true spirit of being a neighbor was. My prayers are with him and his family. Mr. Smith, may the Lord bless you and keep you. ❤ you'll be missed.

One of the most "gentle calming" educators who I have had to privilege of working with. RIP Arthur!
