Arthur Lee Sumlar Jr.

Arthur Lee Sumlar, Jr., affectionately known as "Lil Arthur or Arthur Lee," was born on September 11, 1963, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Arthur Lee Sumlar, Sr. and Verna White Sumlar. He was a proud 1981 graduate of Jean Ribault Senior High School. Arthur was employed with Univar Solutions and also worked part-time with XPO Logistics.

Arthur truly lived his BEST life! He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and became a member of the Northside Church of Christ on May 27, 1973, under the leadership of Minister Alford Hooker. He enjoyed traveling, riding motorcycles, DJing in his younger years, attending concerts, and spending quality time with his family and friends. He was also a supporter of his hometown teams - the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Florida Gators. Arthur deeply valued relationships, and to know him was to truly love him!

Arthur met the love of his life, Mary Brandon, and they were united in holy matrimony on October 5, 2019. Together, they shared six wonderful years of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Arthur departed this life and went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. He was preceded in death by his brother, Samuel Sumlar, and son-in-law, Roy Zackery Lee, III.

Arthur leaves to cherish his loving memory: his devoted wife, Mary Brandon Sumlar; his loving daughters, Janice Miller-Lee, Artishira and Shirlea Sumlar, all of Jacksonville, FL; parents, Arthur and Verna Sumlar, Sr., of Jacksonville, FL; sisters, Rose Griffin and Katrina Sumlar-Rock, both of Jacksonville, FL; mother-in-law, Hattie Brandon, of Titusville, FL; brothers-in-law, Melvin Brandon (Flora), Roney Brandon III (Antwan), and Michael Brandon, all of Titusville, FL, and Roney Brandon, Jr., of Miami, FL; sisters-in-law, Denise Brandon and Demetris Brandon-Wacha (Bryan), both of

Titusville, FL; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many sorrowing friends; including his devoted nephew Journey Sumlar (Andrea), niece Domonique Roberson (Chavis), and special friends Rico Gray, Keith Stroy, and Marcus Denson.
