Arthur “Artie” T. Grniet passed away on October 6, 2025 and true to their devotion to one another, Sandra “Sam” D. (Clark) Grniet joined him on December 12, 2025.

Artie and Sam were a true love story that prevailed for 60 years. They leave behind three children and their spouses, Michele and her husband Michael; Denleigh and her husband Stephen; and Garrett and his wife Melissa. They also were blessed with three grandchildren, Harrison, Hayden and Emma Leigh.

Arthur is survived by his younger brother, George Grniet and his wife Jeanne. Sandra is survived by her two older sisters, Marilyn Glover and Phoebe Hogg. They are also survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom they treasured as their own.

Both were predeceased by older brothers, Michael Grniet and Robert Clark.

Artie and Sam shared many memorable moments with family and friends. Cruises with Sam’s sisters and their spouses. Numerous game nights and dinners with George and Jeanne. UAW functions and travels with Artie’s union brothers and their spouses; John & Mary-Lou Laperle, Red & Maureen Moran and Al & June Awad.

Artie and Sam were not a materialistic couple; they enjoyed experiences. Trips to Disney World, exploring their second home in Tennessee and hitting the Gulf beaches numerous times.

The family would like to thank Jewish Home Hospice, Sterling Village Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation, Christopher Heights, Dottie and Bao.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a cancer and /or Parkinson’s foundation of your choice.

Friends and family are invited to gather for memorial calling hours on Monday, December 22, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, to remember, share memories, and celebrate the lives of Artie and Sam.
