Arthur Taylor Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Chapman Funeral Chapel & Crematory - Brunswick on Jan. 9, 2026.
Arthur Richard Taylor Jr., 84, of Brunswick, Georgia-formerly of St. Simons Island and a longtime resident of Duxbury, Massachusetts-passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026.

Born in Nutley, New Jersey, to Arthur Richard Taylor and Barbara Booth Taylor, Arthur graduated from Weston High School in 1960 and earned his degree from the University of Miami in 1964. He began a distinguished career in banking with BayBank and ultimately served as President of Citizens Bank. Arthur also gave generously of his time and talents as a former President of the Norwood Chamber of Commerce.
A devoted fan of Boston sports and his beloved Miami Hurricanes, Arthur was a lifelong New England Patriots season ticket holder, sharing countless stories from the stands with family and friends. His greatest passion, however, was golf. He was a proud member of Weston Country Club and later Marshfield Country Club during the 1980s and 1990s, where he built lasting friendships on and off the course.

Arthur is survived by his two sons: Bronson and his wife Deb of Dunedin, Florida, and Nathaniel and his wife Stevie Lee of Duxbury, Massachusetts; his three cherished grandsons-Brady, Chase, and Cole; and his former wife, Claudia Taylor of New Port Richey, Florida, who remained an important part of his life.

Arrangements were made by Chapman Funeral Chapel in Brunswick, Georgia. In accordance with Arthur's wishes, no services will be held. Those wishing to honor his memory are encouraged to make a donation to the charity of their choice or consider St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
