Artis Porter Brown, born on July 5, 1938, in Mason County, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2024, in Guilford County, North Carolina, at the age of 86.
After a long and fulfilling career, Artis retired from Borden in 1997, having dedicated 25 years of service to the company. In her leisure, she found immense joy in cooking, savoring delicious meals, indulging in online shopping, and immersing herself in the pages of romance novels. Music and traveling, particularly to Las Vegas, were among her greatest pleasures.
Artis was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Porter; her mother, Edna Duke Owens; her beloved husband of 52 years, Eugene Brown; her daughter, Demetria Brown; and stepchildren, Genell Brown and Terry Brown.
She is survived by her son, Eugene Brown Jr.; her daughter, Lisa Marty Jordan (James); and stepchildren, Tonie Nixon and Karen Brown. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of other family members and friends who will deeply miss her presence.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to AuthoraCare Collective in Greensboro, NC.
