Arvil Hicks Jr.

With hearts full of love and cherished memories, the family of Arvil Hicks, Jr.
celebrates his life and legacy. Arvil passed peacefully, surrounded by family,
on Monday, November 24, 2025, at the age of 87. He was born on November
7, 1938, to the late Arvil Hicks, Sr. and Lorene Barnett Hicks.

Arvil's faith was central to his life. He loved the Lord and was a devoted
member of many churches over the years where he served as an elder and
deacon. His most recent church family was the Jasper Seventh-Day Adventist
Church. His joy for music and strong faith in God shone through as he served
in music ministry in his church and spent many years traveling and singing
with multiple southern gospel quartets, sharing his voice and spirit with many.
Beyond his faith and music, Arvil cherished time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Judith Vosseller Hicks, and
his sister Joyce Webber. Arvil leaves behind a loving family: children Carole
(Michael) Womack, David Hicks, and Kent Hicks; grandchildren Heather
(Zach) Hibbs, Ashley (Micah) Smith, and Amanda Hicks; great-grandchildren
Courtney Jones, Alyssa Jones, Katelyn Jones, Amelia Smith, Townsend
Smith, and Baylor Smith; and sisters Patsy Sexton (Aaron) and Brenda
Townsend.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date to honor Arvil's
memory.
