Bishop Caden Asaro, aged 21, passed away unexpectedly on June 27, 2024, in Philadelphia, PA. Born on August 24, 2002, in Richmond, VT, Bishop was a beacon of optimism, love and joy. He was always quick to smile, crack a joke, and had a natural wit and magnetic glow about him. He was cherished deeply by his family and friends.
Bishop attended Edmund's Elementary, Edmund's Middle School and graduated from Burlington High School. During his youth in Burlington, he played baseball in the Center City Little League,BAHA Hockey, BHS baseball, ultimate frisbee and varsity basketball. He was an avid skateboarder who rode with an unshakeable ease and confidence, even when it left him with screws in his ankle.
Following his graduation from Burlington High School in 2020, he moved to Philadelphia to pursue a degree in Economics and Finance from Temple University Fox School of Business. During the four years he attended Temple University he successfully managed his studies, work, friends and family life. He graduated in May of 2024.
Following his commencement this past May, he began a summer internship at McLaughlin Private Management Company and was excited for his future.
Known for his larger than life personality and good morals, Bishop brought happiness to those around him and lit up every room he walked into. He loved people and had many friends, inviting newcomers to join his tight group. During his time in Philly, he became both an Eagles and Phillies fan. He loved the "City of Brotherly Love" and all the new people he met there, and made it a new home. His ambitious and hardworking nature was evident in every aspect of his life, from academics to athletics.
Bishop's accomplishments in life reached no bounds. He was a bold, outgoing, sociable, reflective leader and a rock to his friends. Bishop brought people together. He loved his brother and parents,and was influential to all.
Bishop is survived by a loving family: parents, father, James S. Asaro, mother, Courtney A. Barry and her partner, John "Ron" Wakefield; brother Mason J. Asaro; and paternal grandparents, Salvatore "Papa" and Helvi "Mummu" Asaro; maternal grandparents Richard "Cool Guy" D. and Marilyn "Nana" V. Barry, and along with his aunts, uncles, and cousins Holly & Joshua Barry, Marina Asaro, Christian, Faeth, Nathanael Asaro, and Hannah, Eleanor, Isla, and Celia Barry.
His presence will be profoundly missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire those who knew him.
