Mildred Cataldo Obituary

With her four wonderful daughters by her bedside, Mildred Rose Cataldo, 91½, passed away Friday, October 8, 2010, in Virginia Beach, VA. Affectionately known as "Millie" or "Nana", she was born April 26, 1919, a native of Roslindale MA, and formerly of Havelock, NC, the wife of the late Emil Anthony Cataldo. Those individuals that where lucky enough to have known this wonderful woman will remember her devotion to her Christian faith, late husband, family and friends. Although short in stature she had the heart of giant and leaves behind a legacy of untiring love and kindness. Her smile, laughter, and fellowship will be deeply missed by all of her friends and family. She is survived by her four daughters and spouses, Patty and Howard Thomasson of Danville VA, Kathleen and Thomas McEntire of Ackworth GA, Linda Cataldo of Virginia Beach, VA and Barbara and Steve Gogniat, also of Virginia Beach, VA; five grandchildren, spouses, and great-grandchildren, Brian Thomasson and son Alex of Virginia Beach, VA, Chris and Jennifer Thomasson and daughter Addison of Concord, NC, Jason Cataldo of Virginia Beach VA, Amie and Lee Pridgen and son Lucas of Virginia Beach VA, and Will Deady of Virginia Beach VA. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, October 11, 2010, at the Church of the Ascension chapel with Fr. Jim Parks officiating. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Alzheimer's Association or the Macular Degeneration Foundation.
