Ashley Elizabeth Pastor

Ashley Elizabeth Pastor, a cherished wife, mother, sister and friend, passed away suddenly on November 26, 2025, in New York City, at the age of 41. Her sudden departure has left a void in the hearts of all those who knew her.

Born on February 24, 1984, in Greenwich, Connecticut, to Ron Gilligan and Elizabeth Lloyd, Ashley was a formidable woman who enriched the lives of those who knew her. A 2002 graduate of Norwalk High School, she had an insatiable drive for education, achieving a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2016, a Master of Science in Nursing in 2019, an MBA in Management in 2021 and the achievement she was most proud of, a Doctorate in Nursing Practice in December 2024.

Ashley’s nursing career began in 2016 as a Registered Nurse for Bridgeport Hospital/Yale New Haven Health. While working full-time, she also worked per-diem as a Labor and Delivery Nurse at Stamford Hospital starting in 2018. One year later, she became an Off-Shift Administrative Nurse Manager for Bridgeport Hospital and continued working both roles while also getting her three graduate degrees. In October 2024, she was appointed as a Director of Nursing at Bellevue Hospital in New York to lead Nursing Excellence. This was a dream come true for her and gave her deep purpose as Bellevue was the hospital designated to receive victims of the 9/11 attacks. She believed she was now where she was meant to be, doing what she was meant to do. Her recognition through awards such as the Bridgeport Hospital Quality Award attests to her commitment to excellence. As if that was not enough, Ashley also leveraged multiple specialized certifications like Nurse Executive Advanced – Board Certified (NEA-BC), which recognizes advanced expertise in nursing leadership and administration.

Ashley’s greatest joy came from her family. She was a dedicated mother to Hannah (6), who was the light of her life. Alongside her dedication to her work and family, Ashley had a love for traveling the world and seeing all the beauty that it has to offer. Ashley enjoyed catching up with an ever-expanding volume of friends over a nice meal at one of her favorite spots. She was always able to make time for her weekly Sunday evening phone call with her brother across the pond, ensuring that there were never any barriers preventing her from giving her time and attention to those that she loved. She gave endless encouragement to those around her, many of whom now hold certifications and titles that are a testament to her infectious desire to be the best that she could be in every regard. She spoke of her husband, Greg, with love and joy at every opportunity, crediting him alongside Hannah as her biggest supporter, with their inseparable bond being the foundation on which her achievements were built.

Ashley’s kind heart and infectious enthusiasm made friends everywhere she went. Ashley will be remembered for her resilience, sharp wit, and generosity, which touched the lives of many people.

Ashley is survived by her husband Greg; loving daughter, Hannah and her brother, Dherran of Newcastle-Under-Lyme, United Kingdom. She was a beloved stepmother to Jack and Alex who were a valued part of her family. She was preceded in death by her father Ron who was her hero. “Be the best you can be”, he often told her, and clearly she did not take that lightly. Nor did she her love for pink, which she will continue to wear on Wednesdays.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Monday, December 1, 2025 from 4:00 till 8:00 pm at the Raymond Funeral Home, 5 East Wall Street in Historic Norwalk.
