Ashley A. Spademan, born and raised in Avon Lake, passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2020. She was born December 14, 1991 to loving parents Ron and Jan Spademan. Ashley graduated from Avon Lake High School (Class of 2010) where she enjoyed being part of the Cheerleading program and a Lifeguard at Avon Lake Municipal Pool. Growing up, Ashley loved swimming, horseback riding, dance and playing the piano. Ashley enjoyed the many family vacations to Canada, The Bahamas and Florida where she was able to spend time on the beach and swim in the ocean. Ashley had a joy for life that was contagious. She had a love for animals that drove her passionate advocacy for animal shelters, and even led her to rescue the family dog Zane. She was beautiful, kind and loved the simple pleasures of life. Family traditions, from decorating for the holidays, to picking strawberries, cherries and apples, were treasured moments to her. And she was a loyal Cleveland sports fan, especially for her Browns. Ashley worked in healthcare and was always putting her coworkers and the patients needs first. She had a compassion for others that made her uniquely qualified to help during this difficult year. The love that she showed to others was felt and admired by her family and friends who love and miss her deeply. Left to cherish Ashley's memory are her parents Ron and Jan Spademan; sister Taylor Spademan (fiancé Nick Kovach); uncles Rob Spademan and Rick Spademan; and the family dogs Zane and Tulip. She is preceded in death by her grandparents Dick and Mary Spademan and Paul Whitney. Memorial contributions may be forwarded to Friendship Animal Protective League, 8303 Murray Ridge Rd, Elyria, OH 44035 or at https://friendshipapl.org/donate/. A funeral mass with social distancing and masks required will be held Friday, December 18, 2020 at 10am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 32946 Electric Blvd, Avon Lake, OH 44012. Ron, Jan, and Taylor, my heart aches as I write this. Ashley was a bright light, full of laughter and kindness. I can hear her voice and see her handwriting in my mind clear as day. Our memories are things that I will carry with me forever. A few months ago I found a scrapbook she made of our friendship, and I am holding on to it so tightly. It is hard to put in to words how very sorry I am for your loss. She was so loved and will be always. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Ron, Jan and Taylor,
It is with such a heavy heart that I am typing these words. I remember Ashley vividly since she spent many days with my daughter, McKenna. Her sweetness and her kind way with others was so refreshing and memorable. Ashley also had such a charming and unique little voice that I can still hear her voice today.
Your beautiful daughter will not be forgotten and I know she will be with you everyday!
Love, Julie Sullivan (Palmieri)
