Ash has been a friend of mine since 1966 in the sixth grade. A dear friend whom I haven't seen for about 50 years. I was hoping to see him again in this world but will now I have to wait until Heaven. I miss you old buddy!!

Former U.S. Defense Secretary Dr. Ash Carter, who served in the final two years of Barack Obama's presidency, has died aged 68. Dr. Carter was almost always "the smartest person in the room" but never flaunted his intellect. He was truly one of the best people I've ever worked for and he mentored thousands. He cared deeply for our troops and was always about doing things right. The nation owes him a great debt. RIP Boss. My deepest condolences to his family and close friends.
