Ashton Provost Obituary
Ashton was hardheaded and stubborn, as a child she loved so much to play with dresses and all things girl and diva. She loved everyone she encountered and would do just about anything to make sure they knew it. Ashton never let anyone stand in her way when showing her love, especially to her dad as a little girl, she was "such a daddy's girl," and her daughter is exactly like her. Ashton attended Rockyford School from pre-school to the 8th grade. She loved giving everyone grief from shoving and slapping up her brothers, to breaking her uncle Kins rib by accident. Ashton was a tough girl, she loved her sisters, always joking around and teasing. With Ashton, it was always laughs, but let us not forget how sassy she was either, she was the boss. Ashton was one of a kind and will be deeply loved and missed by her family and friends.
Ashton is survived by her daughter, Brealla Rein Provost; parents, Lori Janis and Casey Provost; brothers, Casey Provost, Jr. and Tanner Provost; sisters, Page Janis, Jasey Provost, and Kaylee Provost; paternal grandparents, Orren and Doreen Provost; maternal grandmother, Colleen White Butterfly; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, & cousins.
Ashton was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Benjamin William Janis; paternal grandmother, Gloria Pourier; uncle, Benjamin Joseph Janis III; nephew, Wilder Provost; and cousin, Gracie Lynn Thunder Hawk.
Pallbearers will be Kin Provost, Reigns Provost, Taylen Garnette, Lyle LeBeaux, Jr., Nevada Brave, Bud Swallow, and Rendon Swallow.
Honorary pallbearers will be all her friends and relatives and everyone who touched her life and she touched their lives.
Wake Services: One night wake service starting at 1:30 PM, Friday, August 25, 2023 at the Rockyford School Gymnasium in Rockyford, SD with evening prayer services starting at 6:00 PM.
Funeral Services: 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 26, 2023 at the Rockyford School Gymnasium in Rockyford, SD
Officiating: Deacon Bill White
Traditional Lakota Services: Mr. Jerome LeBeaux
Burial Services: Ghost Horse Ranch Cemetery, Porcupine, SD
Arrangements entrusted with Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD
