York, South Carolina - Mr. Aubrey L. Burns, age 85, of York, SC passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at Sunflower Springs of Lake Wylie, SC.
A memorial service, hosted by Tirzah Presbyterian Church, will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 15, 2026. The service will be officiated by Reverend Carrie Blanchard and the church is located at 180 Tirzah Rd. York, SC 29745. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
Aubrey was born on July 11, 1940, in Sharon, South Carolina. He was the son of the late John Walter Burns and Willie Mae Sealy Burns and was the devoted husband of the late Joyce Henson Burns. Aubrey was a faithful member of Tirzah Presbyterian Church and a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He will be remembered for his steady faith, quiet strength, and deep love for his family.
He is survived by his daughter, Hope Moore (Kevin); his grandchildren, Holden Starnes (Hannah), Breanna Starnes (Clayton), and Sarah-Faye Gostel (Robbie); and his great-granddaughter, Nora Starnes. He is also survived by his stepdaughters, Barbara Ann Deese, Debbie Starnes (Roy), and Janet Johnson (Ray); and his sisters, Irene Bell (Bob) and Mary Anne Boulware (Trez).
In addition to his parents and beloved wife, Aubrey was preceded in death by his brother, Walter Lewis Burns.
In memory of Aubrey, memorials may be made to Tirzah Presbyterian Church, 180 Tirzah Road, York, SC 29745.
