Aubrey Edward Joines, 85, of Woodbine MD, peacefully passed away on February 1, 2025.
Simply known as Ed, he was born on February 14, 1939, to his loving parents, the late Harmon and Hattie (Brown) Joines in Whitehead, NC.
Ed grew up in the mountains of North Carolina, where his family roots and traditions run deep. An Air Force veteran and retired HVAC mechanic, Ed was a hard worker. He lived life with joy and there was not much Ed couldn't fix or do.
A regular attendee of Calvary Baptist Church in Westminster, MD, Ed knew his salvation was in Christ alone, and the grace of God has brought him to his eternal home in Heaven. His family finds comfort in knowing he lives forever with his Savior.
Ed is survived by his loving wife of 45 year Cathy Joines of the home, a daughter Dr. Karen Joines of the home, a daughter Treva Joines of FL, two granddaughters Diana Garnett of MD and Sarah Langdon of FL. Additionally, he is survived by his brother, Lonnie, sister Jane, 9 great-grandchildren: Kylie, Paige, Alexavier, Cassandra, Aurora, Damien, Nathan, Ronald, and James, as well as many other family members and beloved friends.
Ed was proceeded in death by his loving parents, his cherished older brother Bob, a loved daughter Barbara, two precious grandchildren, Eddie and Cindy, and many other beloved family members and friends.
His family will receive family and friends on Thursday February 6, 2025, at Calvary Baptist Church, 3200 Ridge Road, Westminster MD with a visitation from 12:00noon to 1:00pm with funeral service starting at 1:00pm with Pastor Tim Leaman officiating.
Additionally, the family will receive family and friends on Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 10:00am to 11:00am at which time the funeral service will start, at Thomas Family Funeral Service 115 Hawthorne St, Sparta, NC 28675
Interment at Joines Cemetery, Sparta NC.
