Audrey Octavia "Tava" (Grinstead) Scott

Audrey Octavia "Tava" (Grinstead) Scott, 86, of Roland, Oklahoma, passed away on March 11, 2026. She was born on October 8, 1939, in Pope County, Arkansas, to Velva Okla (Long) Grinstead and William Vernon Grinstead.

On December 27, 1957, Tava married her beloved husband, Harold Gene Scott, in Stilwell, Oklahoma. Their union was filled with love and devotion until Harold preceded her in death on February 18, 2021.

Tava dedicated many years of her life to her work as a secretary at Gans School, as well as serving as the secretary for the Town Administrator of Roland. Her professional contributions were valued by many in the community. Outside of her career, she was known for her passion for crafting and cherished the precious moments spent with her family.

Tava is survived by her three daughters, Carlene Roe of Muldrow, OK, Sherry Cantrell and Doug of Roland, OK, and Christina Walters of Rogers, AR. She was a loving grandmother to seven grandchildren: Shane Roe and Holly of Muldrow, OK, Eric Roe and Dakota of Muldrow, OK, Chad Lasiter of Sallisaw, OK, Sammy Lasiter and Lisa of North Carolina, Wayne Douglas Cantrell of Roland, OK, Sidney Littrell and Bradley of Tontitown, AR, and Sadie Walters of Broken Arrow, OK. Additionally, she leaves behind nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Tava was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold, one sister, Lee Newkirk, and one son-in-law, Charles Roe.

Her legacy of love, kindness, and creativity will always be remembered by her family and friends. Tava's life was a testament to the joy of family bonds and the beauty of a life well-lived. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
