Audrey Elaine Hoye. 79, of Oakland died on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at the home of her sister in McHenry. Born on August 28, 1942, in McHenry, she was the daughter of the late Cecil Leroy and Mildred Mae (Glotfelty) Edgar.
She retired after forty years of service as sales manager for Rudy's Clothing. She was a member of the Crellin United Brethren in Christ Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and youth director for over twenty years. Audrey was viewed as a second mom to many children. She was also a member of Woodmen of the World. She loved playing cards, building puzzles and was very artistic spending many hours painting and building miniature houses and other decor. She also loved the famous "cousin get togethers".
She is survived by her loving husband of fifty-three years, Paul Waller Hoye, Jr; sisters, Loretta Mosser and Shirley Crow; brother, Cecil "Wayne" Edgar; a special niece, Tracy Simmons; and several other nieces, nephews and extended family members.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Edgar.
Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Sunday, October 24, 2021, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday, October 25, 2021, at 11 AM with Pastor Ed Calhoun officiating. Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery.
