Audrey “VaNay” Jones, age 90, of Renton, WA, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2025. She was born on March 9, 1935, in Cardston, Alberta, Canada to Myron and Vergie Cox.
After graduating from high school, she moved to the Spokane area with her family, where she married Leslie Jones in August 1955. They had four children. After moving to Moses Lake in 1963 she attended Big Bend Community College, and soon after started her career as a bookkeeper. She became an American citizen in December 1968.
An accomplished seamstress, VaNay made many of her own clothes and children’s clothes, and taught others how to sew, knit and crochet. She was also a superb cook. Her home cooked meals and baked goods were always delicious.
As a single mother raising four children, VaNay overcame many challenges. She remained positive in her trials and will be remembered for her courage and dedication to her faith as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
VaNay was preceded in death by her parents and younger brother, Neldon. She is survived by her children: Sheryl, Brian, Tamara, and Duane; 16 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and siblings: Melda, Marvin, Kenneth and Lonnie.
Funeral service for VaNay will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1001 Fair Ave, Buhl. Burial will conclude at the West End Cemetery, 1574 E Elm St, Buhl.
