Audrey Perry

Audrey Fisher Perry, 92, of Apex, and former long-time resident of Durham, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2026. She was born in Buncombe County, NC, to the late William Homer Fisher and Willie Sue Roberts Fisher. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Ellis V. Perry, and brother, William Homer Fisher.

Mrs. Perry, along with her late husband, Ellis, enjoyed traveling, judging clogging competitions and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was involved with the N.C. State Fair Folk Festival for more than 30 years. She was a teacher at Northern High School in Durham and, in retirement, worked as a bank teller with SunTrust Bank.

Ms. Perry is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Crawford (Bill Bryan), of Apex, NC; son, Ellis Vance Perry III (Kristin), of Bend, Oregon; brother, Michael David Fisher (Sandy), of Asheville, NC; sister, Patricia Beaman (Tom) of Ellenboro, NC; grandchildren, Kate Perry and Anna Perry; nephews, Will Fisher and Woody Sprouse; nieces, Sheila Herring and Brenda Nelms.

An informal celebration of life will be held on April 16, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Gathering Room at Clements Funeral Home.
