Surrounded by her family on Sunday, August 21, 2022 Audrey Marie (Mackowick), Weimer, Rice of Greensburg, PA, passed away at the age of 86. She was born in McKeesport, PA to Elizabeth (Kuczler) and Stephen Mackowick. Little Audrey came out a fighter and a determined child. She spent several years in the hospital due to her breech birth and hip dislocations that went undetected until she was a toddler and was unable to walk. Despite being told that she would not walk, Audrey proved those doctors wrong not only by walking but also with her moves on the dance floor.
Audrey was married to Paul E. Weimer and had her greatest accomplishments, her pride and joy in life, her daughters Cindy and Cheryl. Being a single mom and raising her girls alone, Audrey worked as a Cosmetologist and styled hair for all her friends and relatives. Later in years, when her hips could no longer take all the standing, she went back to school and became an Electrologist and Esthetician. She ran a successful business out of her home.
Later in years, Audrey found love again and married Paul (Bob) Robert Rice of Scottsdale, PA. They had 25 good years together of traveling and fun adventure before he passed on October 24, 2010. Audrey loved tending her vegetable garden and rose bushes. She loved volunteering on the Oncology Unit, helping with the St. Peter s HS and First Ward Reunions in McKeesport, PA. She loved to make others smile and laugh with jokes, notes, and cards. Audrey loved Catholicism and was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral in Greensburg, PA. She loved her prayer chain participation and took to praying for others very seriously.
Audrey is survived by her daughters Cindy (Smokey) Garvin of Pittsburgh, PA and Cheryl (John) Pugliano of Herriman, UT. She has 6 grandchildren Anna (Matt), Tony (Catie), Sara (Luke), Joseph (LaReesa), Ezra, and Dana Pugliano. She is the proud great grandma of 8 great grandchildren. Audrey s kids in her golden years are her pet cats, Sugar and Spice.
Family and friends received Wednesday 2-8 PM at the Readshaw Funeral Home, Inc. 1503 Brownsville Road, Carrick. Funeral Prayers Thursday at 10:00 AM in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM in St. Philip Church 50 West Crafton Ave. Pittsburgh, PA 15205.
