It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Augusta Moore Brown, after her 15+ year battle with Dementia. She was beloved mother, sister and friend who passed away on February 22, 2026, at the age of 82. She was born on August 9, 1943, and throughout her life, she touched the lives of countless people with her love, kindness and unwavering faith.

Augusta was a devoted mother to her two sons, Derrick and Bryan and a cherished ex wife of Johnny Brown. She was a loving grandmother to four grandchildren: Gerron Brown, Ashley Brown, Derrick Brown, and Quiana Smith, who preceded her in death. She was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were a source of immense pride and joy in her life.

She was a beloved sister to her surviving sisters Maya, Elouise, Christine, and her two brothers Michael and Tim. She was predeceased by her sister Mary, whose memory she carried close to her heart. Augusta was also preceded in death by her father Gus Moore, and her mother, Odell Moore.

Though she received many accolades throughout her life, it was her deep love for the lord that defined her most. As a member of C.N. Jenkins Memorial Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, NC, her faith was the cornerstone of her existence, guiding her every step and inspiring all who had the privilege of knowing her. She embodied grace, compassion and devotion, always ready to share a kind word or offer a helping hand.

A celebration of her life will be held in May, with details to follow. We invite all those who knew and loved her to join us in honoring her memory and the remarkable legacy she leaves behind.
