Aureliano Moreira Cunha, 83, passed away at his home on Monday, March 24, 2025. He was born on January 1, 1942, in Fortaleza, Ceará, Brazil to his late father and the late Auristela Moreira da Cunha (Oliveira). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ari M. Cunha and Adalto M. Cunha.
Aureliano is survived by his wife of 50 years, Virginia A. Cunha; sons, Ari B. Cunha (Affi Christiane) of Silver Spring, MD and Adam B. Cunha (Priscila) of Naperville, IL; daughter, Angela Cunha Hightshoe (Craig) of Fort Mill, SC; grandchildren, Oliver and Alaina Hightshoe, Alice Cunha de Miranda; step grandchildren, Arsene and Roukiyatu Lassokpe; sister, brothers, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many cousins.
Aureliano loved the beach and would go every chance he had. He loved to play various card games and loved music. His favorites were Elvis Presley, Selena, Shania Twain, Toni Braxton and Frank Sinatra, to name a few. He loved to dance and was often considered the life of the party dancing with everyone. Aureliano took great pride in his three children and absolutely adored being a grandfather and cherished every moment he spent with his family. He will be remembered by his wonderful sense of humor. He was always joking around and trying to get people to laugh. He will be dearly missed.
The service for Aureliano Cunha will be on Saturday, April 5 at 11:00 am at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC, 29732.
