Austa Hopper Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Waite Funeral Home Brunswick on Jan. 21, 2026.
Austa Mary Phillips (nee Roe) Hopper, of Hinckley, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, on January 20, 2026, at the age of 97. She was born February 6, 1928, in Cleveland, Ohio, to William and Mary (nee Smith) Roe in Cleveland, Ohio.

Austa was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. She attended Dennison University and completed her RN degree at Francis Payne Bolton School of Nursing, which is now Case Western Reserve University. Austa married William Hopper in August 1952 and was happily married 58 years, until Bill's passing in 2010. Her greatest joy was spending time with family, which included travel to various locations across the US. Austa loved meeting with her friends monthly for lunch and reliving old times.

Austa will be deeply missed by her children, Edith (Dave) Ison, Thomas Hopper, Howard (Dianne) Hopper, and Linda (Danny) Biller; her grandchildren, Becky (Greg) Velliky, Jimmy (Beth) Biller, Cody Ison, Amanda (Keegan) Radeff, William Hopper, and Kathryn Hopper; and her great-grandchildren, Mariah Ison, Savannaugh Ison, and Delilah Radeff.

The family will welcome guests from 2:00 to 3:00 pm on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Waite Funeral Home, 3300 Center Road, Brunswick, Ohio, with a memorial service will immediately following at 3:00 pm.
