RICHMOND, IN– Austin Achilles Bryant, age 18, of Richmond, Indiana, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family as he went home to be with the Lord on November 8, 2025.
Born April 3, 2007, in Richmond, Indiana, to Christopher and Marietta Brockman Bryant, Austin has lived in this community his whole life. He was a senior at Richmond High School. Austin had a heart full of kindness, humor, and strength. He loved playing PlayStation with his cousins, going to concerts, learning jiu-jitsu, fishing, playing the steel drums, and rooting for his favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys. In October 2024, Austin's dream came true when he traveled to Dallas, Texas through Make-A- Wish to meet the Cowboys and attend a game of his choice.
Austin was diagnosed with osteosarcoma (bone cancer) at the age of 16. Throughout his courageous battle, he never showed fear or lost his faith. He faced every challenge with remarkable strength and grace, inspiring everyone who knew him. He fought bravely and never gave up.
Austin will be forever loved and remembered by his parents, Christopher and Marietta, and his sister, Chloe Bryant, who meant the world to him, along with his two dogs, Diesel and Axel.
Austin is also survived by his grandparents, Cecil Bryant, Patty Brockman, and Anna (Scott) Cross; aunts and uncles, Martina (David) Phenis, Heather (Shannon) Mackey, Jennifer (Chris) Hollingsworth, Tonya (Morgan) Walden, Reggie Bryant, and Danny (Nola) Bryant; many beloved cousins, Makenzie (Kyle) Parkinson and their daughter Reese, Caden Phenis, Benjamin, Jazmyn, Jordyn, and Kirsten Martin, Shaylin and Faith Mackey, Libby Hollingsworth, Taylor Walden, Olivia Bryant, Amanda Bryant, Jon Bryant, Jordan Hope; along with other extended family and friends who loved him.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Joyce Bryant and Russell Brockman; and step uncle John Scott "Scottie" Scales.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses for the incredible love, care, and compassion they showed Austin throughout his journey.
Austin will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know him. His strength, courage and joyful spirit will live on forever in the hearts of his family and friends. Though his time here was far too short, his impact will be felt for a lifetime.
Visitation for Austin Achilles Bryant will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 14, 2025, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Richmond officiating. Burial will follow in Earlham Cemetery.
