Ava Butler Obituary

Ava Jean Butler (Jeannie Jones), 65, of Fernandina Beach, passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, Aug. 27, 2024, at the Warner Center for Caring, after bravely facing her battle with glioblastoma. Jeannie was born in Jacksonville, the youngest of six children, to the late Eston and Doris Jones.?She leaves behind her husband, Gabriel Butler; her daughter, Salena (Katie); her sisters, Brenda Norton (Kenny) and Delores Jones; and her brothers, Wendall, David and Harold. Jeannie also leaves behind a grandson, Thomas Stillwell; two nieces, Kendra Higginbotham (Donald) and Kayla Odom (Ben); and a nephew, Gary Sea (Annie); as well as many extended family and friends. As a cherished member of the Butler family, Jeannie also leaves behind those she loved so dearly in Ireland, England and Australia.
A lifelong fan of 70s music, she found solace and happiness in the songs that defined an era. She was a familiar face at live music events all around town, where she could always be found with a smile on her face, soaking in the energy of the performances she loved so much.
Jeannie's bright smile, unwavering strength and warmth, which she shared with everyone around her, will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Jeannie also loved to travel with her husband, family and friends, creating cherished memories that will never be forgotten.

Brother, I am so sorry I will not be able to attend. She was one of the sweetest people I have ever known. Definitely out of your league. Nevertheless, she definitely loved life and you. Cherish every memory of her and she will always be with you. Love you bro!
