Mrs. Avaleen (Hill) Stearns of Albany, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at the Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville, Kentucky, having attained the age of 87 years, 8 months, and 15 days. She was born in Burkesville, Kentucky on Thursday, December 30, 1937, the daughter of Edward & Levie Jewell (Booher) Hill. She was a loving homemaker, and found joy in the simple pleasures of life, including sewing, watching Little House on the Prairie. She epically enjoyed her visit to Myrtle Beach with family. Of all the things she like most, the color green was her favorite. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Willie "Cracker Jack" Willis, second husband, Granville Mitchell Stearns, daughter, Anna Faye Willis, siblings, Elizabeth Madaline Morrison, Billy Hill, James Edward Hill, Lanta Jewell Melton, Florine Gerta Hill, Ermen Hill, Dennie R. Hill, granddaughter, Melinda Sue Brown, and beloved pets, Bengie & George.

She is survived by her children, Johnny (& Maxiene) Willis of Albany, Kentucky, JoAnn (& Nelson) Graham of Chesterfield, South Carolina, Lena Brown of Albany, Kentucky, brothers, Donnie Hill of Burkesville, Kentucky, Herman Hill of Glasgow, Kentucky, 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was conducted on Friday, September 19, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. C.S.T. in The Memory Chapel of the Campbell-New Funeral Home with Bro. Marcus Williams officiating. Burial was in the Memorial Hill Cemetery in Albany, Kentucky. Casket Bearers were Jessie Brown, Jason Brown, Justin Brown, Joe Boykin, Mark Bell, and Lucas Abner.
