Avery Allen Moyars

Avery Allen Moyars, 74, of Luttrell, Tennessee passed away at his residence while surrounded by his wife and three daughters on Sunday, September 28, 2025. He was born on March 21, 1951 in Lafayette, Indiana to the late Theodore Edwin and Jean (Sheets) Stewart. Avery was a Sergeant in the 153rd Calvary in the United States Army for 13 years. He retired as a Deputy Sheriff from the Marion County Florida Sheriff's Office after 29 years of service. He was a devoted man of God, a devoted husband, a loving father of 3 beautiful girls, a caring grandfather and great grandfather. On March 26, 1971, Avery married Peggy Aileene Rowland in Flora, Indiana, and she survives. In addition to his wife of 56 years, Peggy Moyars, Avery is survived by his daughters, Michaela Ann (Matthew) Banks of Morriston, Florida, Carol Lynn (Scott) Smith of Lecanto, Florida, and Christan Gale (Jonathan) Nolte of Brunswick, Georgia; sister, Carla Barltet of West Lafayette, Indiana; grandchildren, Brittany Day, Amber (Caleb) Johns, Ashley Moyars, Colton Ruble, Justin (Stephanie) Banks, Trinity (Logan) Christophel, Scotty Smith, Alysia Nolte, and Aidyn Nolte; and great grandchildren, Mason Osgood, Corbin Day, Nevaeh Miller, Brayden Moyars, Liam Christophel, Lainey Banks, and Bayker Banks. In addition to his parents, Avery was preceded in death by his grandparents, Loyde and Ruth Sheets; and brother, Jeffery Jean Moyars.
