Avery Pladers 83, of Mt. Zion, IL passed away at 2:35 p.m., Saturday April 8, 2023, in St. Mary's Hospital,
Decatur, IL.
The family will have services at a later date. Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made in Avery's memory to the
American Heart Association or
Alzheimer's Association.
Avery was born June 7, 1939, in Barta, Latvia the son of Janis and Ieva (Piesnieks) Pladers. Avery obtained his US citizenship in the 1960's. He had served in the US Army. Avery was a member of the American Legion Post #105 and was a 32nd degree Mason. He had retired as a Logistics Manager from Caterpillar. Avery married Barbara J. Frankenberry on November 25, 1961.
Avery is survived by his wife: Barbara of Mt. Zion, IL; son: Marc Pladers (Missy) of Long Creek, IL; daughter: Traci Stark (Wes) of Springboro, OH; sister: Irene Brown of Newark, IL; grandchildren: Joshua Pladers, Matthew Pladers, Sydney Stark and Mia Stark; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Avery was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister.
