Ayden Joseph "AJ" Ackerly, 19, of
Spokane Valley, Washington, entered heaven on Friday, June 20, 2025. We are heartbroken to share that our beloved son Ayden passed away unexpectedly as a result of an accident.
Ayden was born on September 8, 2005, and was joyfully welcomed into the lives of Rob and Deslene on June 8, 2006. Ayden and Curtis officially became Ackerly's and brothers on April 18, 2008, when their adoption was finalized.
From a young age, Ayden loved tinkering with all things mechanical. He started with various household items and eventually graduated to dirt bikes and cars in late teens. Ayden had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed being outdoors, climbing, riding his scooter, camping, and-most of all-spending time with people.
He graduated from Central Valley High School in 2024, where he was a proud member of the wrestling team. He was also introduced to a construction class that inspired new passions and allowed him to use his inventive and creative skills.
Ayden's greatest passion was his faith. He was always involved in his church community, participating in Sunday school, Royal Rangers, youth group, and eventually the young adults group. He attended family camps, kids' camp, and took part in drama performances at Spokane Dream Center. Ayden's life goal was to become a pastor and share his faith with others.
Ayden is survived by his loving parents, Rob and Deslene Ackerly, and his brother Curtis, all of Spokane Valley; his grandmother, Tiblene Coffee of Amherst, NH; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins who adored his loving nature and playful spirit.
He is reunited in the Lord's kingdom with his grandparents, Robert and Margaret Ackerly, and his grandpa Desmond Coffee.
Services for Ayden will be held on Monday, July 28, 2025, at Valley Assembly, 15618 E Broadway Ave,
Spokane Valley, WA 99037
